Covid Special: A survey on consumers’ view of the real estate market

We are living in unprecedented circumstances, with the COVID-19 pandemic affecting global and local economies, as well as every aspect of our lives. Given the continuous concern regarding its effect on the real estate market, we have asked Romanians about their perception on how the current situation might change the way they live and work.

For example, last year, the work from home concept was just a trend, today the level of flexibility in the workplace has increased since the medical crisis started, many of employees working flexibly, either from home or combining work from home with working from the usual workplace.

In residential, people aspect for prices to increase and they really want a larger space in their home, but most of them they will prefer to aspect for the acquisition at least six months and more than half of them will pay a new house with credit.

This report is based on a survey conducted in October 2020 on a sample of 900 employees from Bucharest and regional cities.
