Crosspoint Real Estate has published its latest market report – The Romanian Hotel Market, an overview of the events and trends that shaped the hospitality industry in 2019, a year in which tourist arrivals grew 3% over the previous one.
Crosspoint Real Estate has published its latest market report – The Romanian Hotel Market, an overview of the events and trends that shaped the hospitality industry in 2019.
Tourist arrivals grew 3% in 2019 over the previous year. Demand still came mainly from Romanian tourists: 10.5 million domestic arrivals against 2.67 million foreign ones, out of roughly 13.2 million in total. The hotel industry's turnover for 2019 is estimated at around EUR 1.3 billion.
The main international hotel chains operating in Romania are JW Marriott, Sheraton, Ramada, Pullman, Radisson, Crowne Plaza, ibis, K + K and InterContinental. 2019 also brought new openings, such as Courtyard by Marriott and Hilton Garden Inn Airport in Bucharest and the Mercure hotels in Sibiu and Timișoara.
