Employees in IT, telecom, financial and professional services create a new category of demand in residential

“In recent years, a new segment of residential demand is emerging, mirroring the office segment, where net take-up comes mainly from IT & Telecom, professional and financial services that are renting or already have a home, but they want to upgrade. This category as well as freelancers are career oriented, have limited time and have become aware of the quality, comfort, compartments, a larger usable area or the age of the building. They opt for a good location in semi-central areas with access to public transport and in the proximity of established or new business poles, with all the facilities at hand, with the purpose of residing, not for rent. Consequently, the big developers and investors are looking for land and development opportunities in better areas rather than remote areas, “said Mihai Dumitrescu, Managing Partner Crosspoint, Head of Residential, Land and Investment.
